Founder, John William Johnson, MFCC, LMT
Twenty years ago, after a PhD program at New York University in Health Education, John moved to the West coast, where he studied psychotherapy and massage. After receiving his Marriage and Family Therapist (MFCC) license, John became head of the Behavioral Therapy Division of the Weight Management program at Valley Presbyterian Hospital . Here, John facilitated the recovery of people with eating disorders.
Upon receiving his massage therapy license, John worked with people suffering from chronic back pain and those in rehabilitation after injury and/or surgery. Many of his patients relied on medication to lessen the pain. This initiated John’s quest to find alternative solutions for chronic pain.
After consulting with orthopedists, chiropractors and other medical professionals John founded Back Love, a company that developed alternative back care products. He attended major medical conferences and conventions with the intent of informing doctors about alternative methods of treatment discovered through research and experience with his patients. To his surprise, John found that medical doctors were not as enthusiastic about alternative treatment. Surgeons are not going to inform their patients about alternatives to surgery and doctors are not going to abandon the pharmaceutical companies.
As a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) John understands first hand the healing powers of massage, both on an emotional and physical level. Massage improves your ability to heal muscles, your metal function, your performance level and your psychological wellbeing. John believes that massage should be available to everyone. It was this understanding and belief, along with a strong desire to help others, which led John to found JMP Enterprises, now incorporated as All About Health Network, Inc.
John was awarded board certification as a psychotherapist by the American Psychotherapy Association (May 2009)
Company History In 1997 John developed an e-commerce web site to provide tools and information for developing and maintaining healthy backs.
What developed over the years was a family of web sites, the All About Health Network, that continue to expand in popularity and products. All the JMP web sites have one goal in common: to provide you with a wealth of information and tested products that help people to lead happier, healthier and longer active lives. 
In October 2008, John fulfilled his life-long goal of opening a healing arts center. Oasis Healing Arts Center , located in SE Portland , is now the home of All About Health Network, Inc. Our showroom is open from 9-4 Monday through Friday. Almost all of the products on our web sites are available in our showroom. Customers can stop by, have a cup a tea and try products before they buy.
The space allows John to teach Sound and Movement as Medicine, a healing method developed by John based on his 20 years of improvisational dance experience and study of sound healing and improvisational sound.
Other Highlights
After hurricane Katrina, over 360 victims from the disaster were relocated to Portland, Oregon , the home of JMP Enterprises. John volunteered his time giving massages to the hurricane victims and Red Cross personnel.
John’s expertise in massage therapy earned him a place on the official USA massage therapy team at the 2002 Winter Olympics. John, and a select group of specialists, attended to the needs of all the competing athletes. His team applied a wide range of sports massage techniques to keep the athletes in top form. John is also a regular massage therapist at the annual Portland Marathon.
John has also taught Yoga to men in the Oregon Prison System.
